Les Dissonances' festival
Beethoven's 250th anniversary week-end
Musée National de Port-Royal des Champs, August 29 & 30, 2020

On the 29th and 30th of August, Les Dissonances will celebrate the famous L. v. Beethoven for his 250th anniversary in the wonderful site of the Musée national de Port-Royal des Champs closed to Paris, in the Chevreuse Valley.

Come enjoy the whole event in a magical and bucolic environnement! Four concerts between chamber music and symphonies will be given in the farm former barn. The museum will offer you the opportunity to visit an unique exhibition with a spectacular collection of bows and a conference animated by Jean-François Raffin and Jérôme Akoka. Several workshops for families will take place all days long as part of the French "été culturel et apprenant", a program dedicated to the artistic and cultural education.

Destroyed on Louis XIV orders in 1711, the Abbey of Port-Royal des Champs was one the most active site of resistance against the Royal absolutisme, in the middle of the XVIIe century. At the heart of a 30 hectares domain, we can discover the abbey's ruins, a XIIIe century dovecote, the former abbey's farm and the building "Petites Écoles" (XVII century). The national museum presents several masterpieces of Philippe de Champaigne, painted for the abbey.

Through the evocation of the heroic character of Beethoven, Les Dissonances are looking forward to meeting the public again and to share with its members an unique moment placed under the sign of excellence, to continue the social commitment of the project. The orchestra confirms also its ambition to make people love and share the music in its diversity and to cultivate an humanist approach of the art.
