George Enescu is arguably one of the most amazing musicians I have met in my life with Béla Bartók.

“These words were spoken by Lord Yehudi Menuhin outside the door of his cabin on board the Mermoz when I met him over 25 years ago. I remember when George Enescu's name was mentioned, Menuhin almost looked like the child prodigy he had been over 70 years ago again. His eyes shone with admiration and gratitude for him who was his master. Enescu was indeed a star that spanned the century between its Romanian roots and France, its adopted country. Ravel’s classmate currently being written at the Paris Conservatory and ardent defender of Chausson’s Poem, Enescu is the symbol of the humanist musician. » David Grimal
