When four exceptional musicians - David Grimal, Hans Peter Hofmann, David Gaillard and Xavier Phillips – who already lead busy lives in the music world as soloists, orchestra and chamber musicians, decided to form the  Dissonances Quartet, it was in response to their desire to come together in a – for them - vital activity, i.e. as chamber  quartet.  Four individual musical personalities, united through friendship and passion, and it was the repertoire of Leoš Janáček which they chose to mark the birth  of their ensemble.
