Two springs, two summers, two autumns, two winters. David Grimal and Les Dissonances shed light on an unexpected and astounding afterlife of Vivaldi’s masterpiece. Two centuries separate the music of Piazzolla from that of Vivaldi. Whereas the latter’s seasons are pastoral and literary, Piazzolla’s are urban, linked to Buenos Aires. By opening up a dialogue between them, Les Dissonances initiates a conversation between two continents and two cultures.
